Marquette Man Murdered In Detroit: Follow-Up
A Marquette man has been murdered in Detroit.
The Marquette City Police are working with the Detroit Police Department to solve the case.
21–year–old Antone Adrian Ramos was found dead in an abandoned apartment building in Detroit last Thursday.
Details about the manner in which he was killed have not been released yet.
Ramos was a 2009 graduate of Marquette Senior High School, where he played basketball.
He then attended Gogebic Community College in Ironwood and also played basketball there.
Marquette Police Det. Capt. Gordon Warchock says they and their counterparts in Detroit are trying to uncover why Ramos was in Detroit that day.
He says there’s often rampant speculation on homicide cases, and the speculation can often be spurred on by social media websites.
But Capt. Warchock says the Marquette Police are unable to release any information about the circumstances of the case yet.
Ramos borrowed a pickup truck from a friend last week.
The truck was found in Detroit, near the crime scene.
Marquette Police obtained Ramos’s name from the truck’s owner.
A relative identified Ramos’s body on Monday.
Marquette Police are asking anyone who may know more about what happened to Antone Ramos to call them at 228–0400.
They say you can also call the Detroit Police Department Homicide Unit if you wish at 313-596-2260.
