Sinnaeve takes over Gwinn football program

After forfeiting their final five games last season due to a lack of players, the Gwinn High School football program was also in need of a new coach- until today.

Darren Sinnaeve has been named the new varsity football coach for the Modeltowners. Sinnaeve will no doubt be a busy man this fall, because he is also the head coach of the boys varsity basketball team at Gwinn.

Sinnaeve takes over a Modeltowner football team that has struggled for a number of years. Gwinn last made the playoffs in 1999, and they have not been back in the playoffs since then.

The football teams last regular season win was in 2010, when Gwinn defeated Munising 42-22. Since then, they have lost or forfeited 14 straight games.
