Five people face felony drug charges in Newberry

Michigan State Troopers, out of the Sault Ste. Marie post, conducted a traffic stop at 12:30 A.M., Nov. 7, in the village when they located suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle. Further investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at the Newberry residence where police seized a large quantity of the drug. A sixth person was arrested for violation of a court order. All subjects were lodged in the Luce County Jail pending arraignment.

MSP Motor Carrier Officers and the Luce County Sheriff’s department assisted in the investigation.
