Superior Watershed Partnership Accepts Excellence Award

After a yearlong wait, the winner of Lake Superior Magazine’s 2020 Achievement Award was recognized in–person this morning.

The Superior Watershed Partnership, a Marquette–based non–profit dedicated to conserving and educating in the Lake Superior region, took home the 2020 honor.

The SWP director and founder Carl Lindquist and board chair Maura Davenport accepted the award. They were surrounded by fellow board members and community members, including new Marquette city manager Karen Kovacs. The award was presented by Lake Superior Magazine’s editor Konnie LeMay.

Lindquist founded Superior Watershed Partnership in 1999. He was the only employee at its birth. Since then, the organization has grown to 18 full–time staff members, and 25 seasonal employees.
