“Friends Giving” using music to raise money for ailing friend
MARQUETTE — The holidays are about being there for one another, and a fundraiser is taking that concept in stride.
Michigan–based artists, along with local record label Lost Dog Records, is hosting a musical fundraiser through November.
The fundraiser is centered around Tyler Phillips, a friend of many of the artists, who’s had a challenging year.
“It’s a benefit show for our friend Tyler, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 brain cancer for the second time,” said Raymond Little, founder of Lost Dog Records. “We’re just trying to raise money for him. I know a lot of people are going through hard times. It’s been a hard year for a lot of people. It’s just been extra hard for our friend Tyler, so we thought it’s the least we could do.”
Performances will be held every Sunday of November, on the Lost Dog Records Facebook page.
The goal of the fundraiser is to raise $3,000, to help cover medical expenses.
Local businesses are participating with giveaways, and you can enter for a chance to win by donating to the GoFundMe.
