Logging truck crash in Iron Mountain leads to diesel spill
IRON MOUNTAIN — No one was injured in a traffic crash involving a logging truck Monday morning in Iron Mountain.
The Iron Mountain Police and Fire departments were dispatched to US-2 at 5:33 AM Monday, July 27th, in reference to a logging truck.
The fully loaded truck was southbound on US-2 when it failed to negotiate a curve. The logging truck left the roadway, came back onto the roadway, then exited the roadway a second time before coming to a stop.
Two power poles, a stop sign, a manhole as well as a telephone pole were all destroyed as a result of the accident.
The logging truck sustained heavy damage and leaked diesel fuel, which was contained by the Iron Mountain Fire Department.
The traffic crash remains under investigation.
