UPAWS encouraging submissions for 2021 Pet Photo Calendar Contest

MARQUETTE — Only a few days remain to enter into a photo contest for a good cause.

UPAWS is encouraging pet owners to submit photos of their furry friends for their 10th–annual Pet Photo Calendar Contest.

The contest, which doubles as a fundraiser, is a great way to show off your pet, while helping other animals.

“It’s just a fun way to remember your animals and honor your animals, or maybe it’s in memory of an animal that passed away, but it’s also a great way to do that while supporting your local animal shelter,” said Ann Brownell, Community Outreach Coordinator for UPAWS. “People really love it and people get pretty competitive with the voting in July. It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great fundraiser for us.”

Contestants have until May 31st to submit photos of their animals, after which people can vote online for their favorite submissions all throughout July. Photo entries cost $12 to submit, while each vote costs $0.25.

The winner of the contest will have their photo selected as the cover of UPAWS’ 2021 calendar, along with one month within the calendar.

Other entries will get a chance to win a featured month of their own, or have their photo in a collage on the back of the calendar.

More information, along with where to submit entries, can be found here.
