MARQUETTE — The Salvation Army of Marquette County hosted a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, May.28th.

The event started at 5 p.m. and went until 6:30 p.m. The drive–through format for this event was to help limit public interaction in light of the COVID–19 pandemic.

The Mobile Food Pantry was open to all families in need .

“The need just continues in our community for people whether it’s lost of job or even cut back hours,” said Doug Winters, Captain at the Salvation Army of Marquette County. “Things haven’t stated back up completely so a lot of families are still struggling with food insecurities. So we’re just thrilled to be able to host this pantry and get the food out to people who need it.”

The Salvation Army encourages people who are in need of help and couldn’t attend the event to call their offices.

Drive–through and delivery services will continue throughout the pandemic.
