Ishpeming finalizes offer to city manager prospect

ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming continues to make progress in filling their vacant city manager position.

In a special meeting held earlier tonight, the Ishpeming City Council approved an employment contract to Craig Cugini, who interviewed for the vacant city manager position a few weeks ago.

Cugini, originally from Michigan and Northern Michigan University graduate, is currently working in Fort Greely in Alaska as a civilian employee, doing similar duties to that of a city manager.

If Cugini were to accept the position, he would begin working sometime late January or early February of next year.
