Iron Mountain man in custody on Breaking & Entering charges

IRON MOUNTAIN — One suspect is in custody after six businesses were broken into in Iron Mountain.

The Iron Mountain Police Department received the initial call of a breaking and entering at 6 a.m. earlier today in the “Downtown Plaza,” in the 400 block of South Stephenson Avenue.

After searching the building, it was found that six businesses had been broken into throughout the night before.

After several hours of investigation, the suspect was located and taken into custody in a wooded area near US–2 and Michigan Avenue.

The suspect is a 36–year–old Iron Mountain man, who is being lodged in the Dickinson County Correctional Center.

The suspect was out on bond at the time of the crime for an unrelated breaking and entering charge.

New charges for the new crimes are expected sometime next week, after review of a formal complaint.
