Classic Cars on Third annual car show coming this Saturday

MARQUETTE — If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, be sure to check out the third annual Classis Cars on Third event in Downtown Marquette.

The car show, put on by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority, will take place on Saturday from from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is free to the public, and everyone is encouraged to come.

“We’re expecting about 200 classic cars and motorcycles in a variety of different categories,” said MDDA Promotions and Events Coordinator Tara Laase-McKinney. “This event is a big draw for the community. We get lots of people locally who have classic cars who really love to come out and show them off, and we get a lot of people who like to come and check them out as well.”

Cars competing in the show are eligible to win a variety of prizes. All proceeds from the event will go toward the Women’s Center in honor of Jessica Drummond, who was a victim of domestic violence.
