Man caught peeking into window points loaded rifle at officers, now in custody
STANTON TOWNSHIP — On Sunday May 26th, deputies from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man peeking into a window at a Stanton Township camp.
The suspect left the scene in a vehicle, but was located a short distance away. While at the residence, the suspect pointed a loaded rifle at one deputy. Deputies were able to get the firearm, which was identified as stolen, away from the suspect without any incident.
The suspect is a 36-year-old Stanton Township man, who is being lodged at the Houghton County Jail on multiple felony charges.
His name is being withheld pending arraignment.
