Small water main break in Escanaba under repair

ESCANABA — A small water main break has occurred on the 600 block of South 20th Street in Escanaba.

The City of Escanaba’s Water Department says that repairs will be conducted today, Monday, February 4th. Water will need to be shut off in that area for repairs.

Affected residents should be confined to the following blocks, should all the valves close tight:

600, 700, & 800 block of South 20th Street (including Lemmer School) 1900, 2000, 2100 blocks of 8th Ave. South.

Residents are being asked to allow crews to flush the city mains before using any water. The flushing is expected to last until approximately 4:00 p.m. Monday evening. Residents are also asked to allow extra time or travel due to crews working in hazardous, icy conditions.
