Libraries wrapping up Summer Reading Program
NEGAUNEE — After a summer full of activities, the Summer Reading Programs in Marquette County are coming to an end.
From Escape rooms to kids finding a new genre of books to read, the activities were endless.
Over a hundreds of children and teens have signed up for the Summer Reading Program throughout Marquette County this year.
The programs have helped kids combat the summer slide from being out of school.
“You lose a lot of what you learned over the 3 months of summer vacation, so libraries help schools in that we hopefully keep the kids. Their minds working throughout the summer, so they’ll be fresh and ready,” said Jessica Holman, Library Director at Negaunee Public Library.
The Negaunee Public Library is holding its Children’s Summer Reading Finale Celebration Tuesday.
