Man dies after hitting tree
UPDATE: JULY 23rd, 2018, 10:05 A.M. — The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office reports that the deceased as a result of the crash is 35-year-old Francisco Escobar from Pound, WI.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the incident, which is still under investigation.
BEAVER — On Saturday, July 21st at 2:42 A.M., the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a crashed vehicle that had struck a large tree on County Trunk “P” just west of U.S. 141 in Beaver.
A Deputy who arrived on scene found a deceased Hispanic male believed to be in his 30’s ejected from the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, the crashed S.U.V. was westbound on Co. “P”, went off road left and east of U.S. 141, traveled across U.S. 141, went off road to the right on CO. “P” west of U.S. 141 and eventually hit the tree.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of massive head and internal injuries. His name is being withheld pending further investigation and notification of family.
This is the 5th traffic fatality in Marinette County this year.
