Wall fire causes minimal damage to Kingsford residence

KINGSFORD — A residence sustained minimal damage following a wall fire in Kingsford on Wednesday.

Kingsford Public Safety was dispatched to a residence located at 600 Westwood Avenue. Officers were advised that there was a fire in the wall of the residence.

It was determined that a local plumbing company was soldering a water pipe. The heat from the pipe caught some material on fire near the floor joists.

Officers were able to locate the source of the fire using the thermal imaging camera. A fire extinguisher was used to put out the fire, and the residence sustained minimal damage.

The home was ventilated and officers remained on the scene for approximately an hour and a half.
