Ishpeming water improvement project underway

ISHPEMING —  The City of Ishpeming’s water improvement project started Friday morning. The water was shut off at 9:00 a.m. today for residents that live on Beech Street, Walnut Street, and White Avenue. Service was expected to be restored by 4:00 p.m.

As for the upcoming water system improvement work that’s expected to last a couple of days, Superior Street will be constructed from West to East, followed by Lake Street from South to North. During this time, on street parking and thru traffic will be closed during portions of the construction efforts.

Small parking areas on the West end of Superior Street and South end of Lake Street will be established for use by homeowners with limited alley parking opportunities. As for garbage, collections will be picked up from the curb by A. Lindberg and Sons INC., and then transported to a designated  pickup location.
