Honor Yoga to hold marketplace and donation-based classes on Sunday

NEGAUNEE — Honor Yoga in Negaunee is hosting an event that will be the perfect end to a busy weekend, called the Honor Yoga Marketplace. The event takes place this Sunday, February 25th.

At the Marketplace, homemade goods such as essential oils, jewelry, artwork and baked goods will be for sale from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There will also be drawings for several raffle prizes. All of this will take place at Honor Yoga Studio, located at 327 Iron Street in Negaunee.

There will also be two donation-based yoga classes at 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at A & C Design, right across the street from Honor Yoga. The first class is a YOD class, which is a combination of yoga and cross-fit. The second class is a SloGlo Yoga Flow.

Both classes will be taught by Honor Yoga Owner Brianna Salmela. If you’re looking to try yoga, Salmela said that this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

“These classes this weekend are going to be simple and basic, and challenging, lots of cues. It’s a great start, just get out on your mat and try it out,” said Salmela. “We’re just this great community. There’s a lot of support.”

The event is a fundraiser to help aspiring yoga teachers receive their full training through scholarships. All of the proceeds will be donated towards the cost of training.
