MARQUETTE — For those of you that say ‘Bah Humbug’ around the holiday season, the Forest Roberts Theatre’s latest production might just be for you.

‘Scrooge’ is the musical adaptation of the classic novel, ‘A Christmas Carol,’ by Charles Dickens, and features the recognizable characters and stories everyone loves. The cast is comprised of NMU students and community members alike, and has been a tradition at NMU for many years. The story shows audiences the journey of a bitter old miser’s discovery of the true meaning of Christmas, courtesy of good folks and strange ghosts.

“Many people nowadays just forget what Christmas is truly about,” said actor Devin Murphy, who plays Scrooge. “People think it’s just about getting the right gift, and retail, and all that stuff – this show reminds people that it’s all about family it’s about what we actually celebrate Christmas for.”

Scrooge opens this Thursday the 14th at 7:30pm and runs until Sunday the 17th. There are also matinee performances on both Saturday and Sunday at 1:00pm. Tickets can be found through any NMU EZ Ticket Outlet.
