3 injured, one airlifted after 3-vehicle crash
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Michigan State Police are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred at the intersection of KO Swanson Drive and Pine Mountain Road in Breitung Township Saturday evening.
At around 5:40 P.M., two vehicles were traveling north on Pine Mountain Road. The lead vehicle stopped for an oncoming vehicle in order to turn left onto KO Swanson Drive, when it was hit by the second vehicle. The first vehicle was pushed off the roadway, and the second veered into oncoming traffic and was struck in the passenger side by a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the first vehicle was transported to Dickinson County Healthcare systems before being airlifted to Green Bay hospital. The other two drivers sought their own treatment.
Names are being withheld pending further investigation.
