ESCANABA — The City of Escanaba Electric Department will send a line crew to Ft. Pierce, Florida ahead of Hurricane Irma to aid in power restorations that are expected to result from the storm.
The two man line crew will leave at noon on Friday, September 8th. The line crew will be working with fellow linemen from Traverse City Light & Power, Lansing Board of Water and Light, Lowell, Niles, and Sturgis.
The City of Escanaba Electric Department has a history of extending help during storm restorations. Within the last 5 years, crews have been sent to assist Cherryland Electric Co-op, Presque Isle Electric and Gas Co-op, and Thumb Electric Co-op.
