Man arrested after crashing stolen car and running from police
IRON MOUNTAIN — A Negaunee man is behind bars after he crashed a stolen vehicle and ran from the scene.
The Iron Mountain Police Department received a call at 6:30 a.m. Monday about a two-vehicle accident on Lake Antoine Road at Boss Way. While responding to the accident, officers learned the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot into Goulette Park.
At approximately 8:00 a.m., the 26-year-old man was located by Michigan State Police Trooper Rossler and K-9 Nikko. Police learned the vehicle the suspect was driving was stolen from the City of Marquette.
The suspect is being held at the Dickinson County Jail. Charges are pending.
