ESCANABA — The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced an upcoming closure of the Escanaba River Bridge on US-2.
The northbound and southbound lanes on US-2 are expected to be closed on the bridge from 9:00 p.m. on August 21st to 6:00 a.m. on August 24th. Beginning Aug. 21, northbound traffic will be detoured via Delta County roads 426, 420, and 531, and M-35.
The detour will be reversed for southbound traffic. MDOT is investing over $20 million to replace the bridge over the Escanaba River along with the Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad Bridge.
