Water lines replacement project starts Monday

ISHPEMING — A $12 million project to replace water lines in the City of Ishpeming begins Monday.

City manager Mark Slown tells ABC 10 the first phase of the projected two-year project will begin on Cliffs Street near Lakeshore Drive. The project will extend towards the north shore of Lake Bancroft.

The city took out a loan from the USDA to replace the water lines, some of which are estimated to be 80-100 years old.
