Ishpeming gift shop celebrating 45 years of business

ISHPEMING–An Ishpeming gift shop has reached a notable milestone this month and wants to include customers and community members in the celebration.

Morrison Gift Shop is marking forty-five years of business and celebrating with a fifty percent off store-wide sale this Saturday as well as offering weekly specials for the remainder of the month. Owner Susan Dix said the store’s success comes from their relationship with community members and the help of her staff.

“Well, it makes you energized,” Dix said. “It’s your exercise of the day, it makes you feel confident and it’s a challenge sometimes and I guess maybe we all need a challenge.”

Along with a discounted price, the sale also includes free gift wrapping, free lay-away and free hugs, Dix said.
