NEGAUNEE — With the August Primary for the 109th District seat coming up next month, constituents will have the opportunity to hear from all four Democratic candidates at the same event.
ABC 10 is moderating an hour-long Democratic Forum Monday night at Ronn Hall in Negaunee. Sara Cambensy, Tom Curry, Joe Derocha, and Jeremy Hosking are all scheduled to take part in the event.
Jason Chapman, chair of the Marquette County Democrats, says this is the first time the county has hosted a forum like this in nearly 25-years.
“The most important thing to take away from all of this is that this is the process we all go through every couple of years is an election to determine who’s best to represent us here in the Upper Peninsula,” said Chapman. “And with Representative Kivela’s passing, it’s a great honor for us to host an event partially in his honor.”
The 109th Democratic Forum is being sponsored by the U.P. Regional Labor Federation, the Marquette County Democratic Party, 906 Dems, and Forward Action Michigan U.P. The forum starts at 7:00, free and is open to the public.
