No one injured in three-vehicle accident
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Champion man was cited for traveling too fast for conditions, after he caused a three-vehicle accident Thursday in Negaunee Township.
The accident happened on US-41 just east of Pond Road. Katherine Hoholik, 66, of Negaunee was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima, when she had to slow down for a westbound truck that was towing a trailer.
The truck driver, Rodney Arnold, 54, of Negaunee was in his 1996 GMC pickup waiting to travel east. Hoholik’s vehicle came to a stop on the highway.
The Altima was struck from behind by a 2003 Honda Pilot driven by Gavin Ackland, 19, of Champion. Hoholik’s vehicle was pushed across the eastbound lanes of US-41 and came to a rest on the south side of the highway.
No injuries were reported.
