ISHPEMING — The Western Marquette County Health Foundation is continuing their partnership with local school districts.
A check was presented to numerous area schools, including Ishpeming Public Schools, Negaunee Public Schools, NICE Community School District, and Republic/Michigamme Community Schools. Over $12,000 was given to each school in order to continue providing counseling services, health support, nursing, along with wellness education.
All these activities are focused on the well being of the students.
“It all has to do with health and wellness related activities. Obviously, we want the students of each district to be healthier and well, that’s the purpose,” said Western Marquette County Health Foundation Chair person, Tom Edmark.
The funds will be used this upcoming school year. This is going on the fourth year that the Western Marquette County Heath Foundation has partnered up with local schools.
