Wildcat Football Announces Spring Game, Spring Practice Dates
MARQUETTE — Northern Michigan head coach Kyle Nystrom announced the football team’s spring practice schedule and spring game Wednesday afternoon.
“We just shifted gears out of conditioning and fourth-quarter programs into football practice,” Nystrom said. “We have to establish and teach how we practice, the fundamentals we employ, the schemes we employ and the effort that we want from our players.”
The spring game is set for Saturday, April 8 at noon. It concludes a four-week practice schedule and is free to the public.
“We’re going to have to evaluate our personnel and maybe at some point adjust people to strengths that they have and weaknesses that we have,” Nystrom said. “We’ll know more when we get into it. For now, we plan on doing a scrimmage, but if we’re not where we need to be health-wise we’ll do a controlled scrimmage, offense versus defense.”
Before the spring game from 10 to 11 a.m., the Wildcats will hold a free youth clinic for players ages three to 13.
