Three vehicle crash involving two Michigan State Troopers

NEGAUNEE– Tuesday night two Michigan State Troopers were involved in an three car accident while providing patrol to a prior crash.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s office just before 11 p.m on US 41 near Pond Rd., a 2009 Chevy Malibu, driven by 19 year-old Trevor Jack from Munising, lost control while attempting to pass a 2007 Dodge Charger.  The Malibu struck the Charger, then careened into a stationary Michigan State Police patrol vehicle.

The Michigan State Patrol vehicle was parked in the inside lane of traffic and troopers were providing traffic patrol for a prior crash.

Jack has been issued a citation of the basic speed of law as well as failure to exercise caution when approaching an emergency vehicle.

Michigan State Troopers Trent Pacheco and Allen Park were both taken the UP Health Systems Marquette and have been released.
