UPAWS working to get pets home for the holidays

NEGAUNEE — Christmas is just a couple days away and if you’re like most people then you’re scrambling to find the perfect gift in time. The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter is here to help with their annual adoption event.

This Thursday, from noon through 6:30 P.M., anyone is invited to stop by UPAWS in Negaunee for the Home for the Holidays Open House. Having this special adoption event is a holiday tradition that is passed down each year. Refreshments, snacks, and of course adoption specials will be offered throughout the event.

“All cats over six months old will be free, all dogs over six months old will be half off, and all of our small critters will be half off also. So come on out, meet the staff, volunteers, and pets. You can also learn a little bit about our pursuit of the new animal community center,” said Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter Community Outreach Coordinator, Ann Brownell.

All animals up for adoption can be viewed on the UPAWS website, you can reach this site by clicking here. On top of the excitement of getting a new pet, every adopted animal gets a gift package as well. It is UPAWS mission to find their animals a loving home for the holidays.
