County Road 595 hits another snag

MARQUETTE COUNTY — The Marquette County Road Commission’s plan to build a 21-mile road connecting County Road Triple-A in US-41 in Humboldt Township has hit another roadblock.

According to a document obtained by ABC 10, Federal Judge Robert Holmes Bell denied the road commission’s motion for reconsideration. The road commission asked the judge to reconsider his decision that currently blocks the county from building the road.

Officials with the county have been trying to construct County Road 595 for several years. During a press conference in August, the road commission, along with their new legal counsel, Pacific Foundation, said they would appeal Judge Bell’s decision to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals if he denied their motion, which he did.
