Car versus train crash

GLADSTONE — This morning, close to 9:35 a.m. EST, a southbound Canadian National train struck a 2011 Ford station wagon being driven by Adolf Jerger, 74, of Cedar River.

A passenger in Jerger’s vehicle, Carol Truitt, 64, of Menominee, was transported to Bay Area Medical Center. Jerger sought treatment of his own and was issued a citation for careless driving.

There were no injuries to train personnel.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Menominee County Sheriff Department personnel.
