IRON MOUNTAIN — The Kingsford man who led police on a chase across parts of Michigan and Wisconsin is off to prison.

Robert Montey, 32, received a sentence of five to seven and a half years with the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Last month, Montey pleaded guilty to charges of operating while intoxicated, third–degree fleeing from police and firearms possession by a felon.

He also pleaded no contest to one count of felonious assault.

On June 21st, Montey led the Iron Mountain Police Department on a pursuit that eventually ended in Niagara.

Police say Montey was intoxicated and had a rifle in his possession during the chase.
