MARQUETTE — NMU’s bookstore is opened once again after seeing some renovations.

The transition is now complete. It’s still located inside the University Center at Northern Michigan University, but the former NMU Bookstore looks a little different these days.

That’s because Barnes & Noble now runs the bookstore. The former NMU Bookstore shut its doors earlier this month in order for Barnes & Noble to come in and make the transition, adding new products and revamping the store’s look. Store manager Paul Wright says the changes made to the bookstore will help students in many ways, especially when it comes to technology.

“Students have a great option. They can download our app from the Google Play Store or the Apple Store and they’re able to use that app to place their textbook orders,” said Wright. “They can purchase clothing, order school supplies, desk supplies, dorm supplies and anything that they want. That app also allows them to track their orders as well. It sends them reminders on when their rentals are due and when the buy back is coming up at the end of the semester. It’s a pretty cool thing.”

The bookstore is open Monday through Friday from seven thirty to four p.m.
