Teenager receives HYTA in robbery case

MARQUETTE — An Ishpeming man who was part of a robbery back in March received his sentence Friday morning in Marquette County Circuit Court.

Nineteen year–old Brandon Beaman received two years probation under the Holmes Youth Training Act (HYTA). That means if Beaman abides by the terms of his probation, his criminal record will not reflect the one–count of armed robbery he pleaded guilty to in April.

Beaman was one of four people involved in a robbery on the 500 Block of N. Fourth Street in Marquette. Police say the occupants in that house were robbed at gunpoint.
