Schools Prepare for Football Districts
IRON MOUNTAIN — Saturday’s mantra was win or go home. A handful of games were on the docket and a handful of teams moved on. For some, it was business as usual. For others, it was upset city.
In Iron Mountain, it was the Mountaineers knocking off downstate Harbor Springs. They will face Ishpeming at the Playgrounds in a rematch of their hard–fought Week 1 game. That game is set for Friday night.
The Kingsford Flivvers dismantled Harrison at home and their big win sends them to Menominee to take on the number one team in the U.P. That game will take place Saturday afternoon at 1pm.
The Forest Park Trojans went to Lake Linden–Hubbell and knocked off the Lakes in a huge upset. Dave Graff and his boys will take on Bark River–Harris at the Superior Dome on Friday with kickoff set for 7:30pm.
Other matchups include St. Ignace taking on Jo–Burg–Lewiston and Calumet traveling to Boyne City. And in the 8–man tourney, North Central will face Rapid River and Posen takes on Cedarville.
