Great Lakes Rodeo looks forward to a great weekend
GWINN — Cowboys and Cowgirls of the U.P. all headed out to Gwinn Friday to rope up a good time.
Friday kicked off the Great Lakes Rodeo. This is the tenth year of the rodeo and they’re looking to have a great time.
“It’s very fast paced. You’re always going to be on your toes, you never know what’s going to happen next. We’ll have bulls going left and right and then the next thing you look out and you’ll have girls running around barrels. So it’s always very exciting and you never really know what you’re going to see,” said Gabrielle Wyckoff, who’s competing to be Rodeo Queen.
Tonight’s events included the start of the Rodeo Queen competition and a horseman skills competition. There was also a dinner served to thank the volunteers who helped get the Fairgrounds ready for the event.
