Booster club raises funds with brats for students

NEGAUNEE — Summer may have arrived and school sports may be over, but some people are working hard to get ready for the fall.

The Negaunee Booster Club had a fundraiser today outside Super One in Negaunee to help raise money for local athletes and scholarships for graduating seniors. They chose a rather unique item to sell — Bratwurst.

“Carl knows how to cook these doggone things so well and so fast and get them out and Kyle our manager said, ‘let’s do it!’ so we said, ‘we’d be glad to do it, what help can we offer?’ As you can see, the way they’ve got the assembly line lined up here from the workers here at Super One, we’re just on the sides thanking people,” said Sean O’Donnell who volunteered to help out at the cook out.

In the past, the booster club has raised enough money to rebuild the locker-rooms and concession stand at Lakeview arena. High school graduates received five $500 scholarships from the booster funds as well.
