UPDATE: Cessna airplane crashes at Sawyer

The Cessna has now been removed, and operations manager Steve Schenden says the airport is now open again as usual.


GWINN — Shortly after 3:30pm today, a single engine Cessna crashed at Sawyer International Airport. There have been no reports of injuries.

A single pilot occupied the plane at the time of the crash. The plane veered off the runway when taking off from the tarmac. The pilot escaped from the plane without injury, but the plane was substantially damaged.
