HOUGHTON — With temperatures near the freezing mark and wind gusts causing near whiteout conditions, an accident Monday morning in Houghton is a reminder to all drivers to be a bit more careful on the roads.
The accident occurred near the intersection of East Montezuma Avenue and Dodge Street. A vehicle rear-ended a Houghton City transit bus while it was stopping to let off a passenger.
Police say the car was driving too close to the bus and was unable to stop safely.
The car received minor damage while the bus was relatively undamaged.
No tickets were issued. Police would like to remind all drivers to keep a safe distance away from the vehicle in front of you, especially in these conditions.
