BAY CITY, Mich. — Sean Pengelly (Hartland, Mich.) has been named the GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after earning his first collegiate win last weekend.
Pengelly completed the eight-kilometer distance at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course in 25:00, defeating the field of 175 collegiate runners at the Lucian Rosa Invitational.
With three top-10 finishes including last Saturday’s (Oct. 11) win, Pengelly has been Tech’s top runner all season. His other GLIAC Athlete of the Week nod came Sept. 22 after a fifth-place finish at the St. Olaf Invitational.
Michigan Tech has this week off before returning to action at the U.P. Championships in Marquette, Mich., on Oct. 24.
