Winter Carnival starts this weekend at MTU
If you drive around the Michigan Tech campus and see large ice sculptures, you know it is time for Winter Carnival.
Building the statues has been going on for about a month so far, and many are looking to top the creations from last year. Events like broomball, ice fishing, and ice bowling will be going on this weekend and all throughout next week.
BlueKey Honors Society President Jack Lubinski said the event really catches the attention of the newer MTU students.
“I think for them to see the impact that snow has on bringing students together for an event is really life–changing to see how much it can help the local community and bring students together,” Lubinski said.
The biggest night of the event will be the All–Nighter on Wednesday where people just have a good time while final preparations are made to the snow statues.
