Man opts out of trial, takes guilty plea in firearms case
A man facing firearms charges opted out of a trial, making a guilty plea in Ontonagon County Circuit Court.
Chris Worachek, 34, pled guilty to felony firearms possession at a pretrial conference.
A trial was originally scheduled for February 12, but instead Woracheck will be sentenced March 3.
Worachek and 33-year-old Andre Jones were arrested in July at a residence in Matchwood Township by Troopers from the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police. Troopers were investigating breaking and entertings in the area and discovered the pair had stolen property.
Jones’s case was dismissed in December.
