Minor injuries in pair of Gladstone accidents
Two people are recovering from minor injuries after a pair of car accidents in Gladstone.
Gladstone Public Safety says the first wreck took place shortly before noon today. A Chevy pickup truck driven by Steven Kidd, 56, of Bark River was turning off of South Lake Shore Drive onto South Hill Road.
Police say Kidd lost control on the icy road and hit a Buick driven by Theresa Pelligrini, 46, of Escanaba. Pelligrini suffered a minor injury but did not need treatment at the scene. Both vehicles were damaged but driveable. Kidd was found at fault.
The second accident happened at the intersection of US-2 & 41 and M-35 shortly before 3:30 p.m. Dan Brown, 52, of Rapid River failed to yield at the intersection in his Dodge Durango.
Police say he hit a GMC Yukon and a Pontiac four-door. The driver of the Pontiac, Lynette Pillera of Gladstone, suffered a minor injury. Brown and the Yukon driver were not hurt.
The Durango and the Pontiac both had to be towed from the scene because of heavy damage. The Yukon sustained minor damage. Police found Brown at fault in the later crash.
