NMU’s Bratrud earns CCSA honor

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan University junior Kyle Bratrud has been named the Central Collegiate Ski Association men’s Skier of the Week the conference announced Wednesday.
Bratrud led NMU to a second-place finish at the CCSA Telemark Chase last weekend (Jan. 17-18) winning the freestyle skate on Saturday by a 10-second margin. On Sunday, he finished second in the classic race just a second and a half behind the winner.
Bratrud is currently second in the CCSA point standings after two NCAA qualifiers. The Wildcats return to action at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mt. Itasca Distance.
