Apostle Island sea caves are open

The Apostle Island sea caves are now open for the first time in five years.

Sub-zero temperatures have frozen northern Wisconsin’s scenic shoreline into what Park Officials describe as a fairyland of needle like icicles.

Although most of the area has frozen solid and is safe to walk, officials warn tourists to be mindful of conditions.  A major in change in temperature or wind speed can compromise the integrity of some of the paths.

If you are interested in visiting, doing so quickly is strongly advised as officials expect the ice to hold for around six weeks.
