Florek sent back to AHL affiliate
Former Northern Michigan University captain and Marquette native Justin Florek has been sent back to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League. Florek made his NHL debut for the Boston Bruins on Jan. 4 vs. Winnipeg.
He played in three games for Boston, scoring a goal and adding an assist. Florek scored his first NHL goal against the Los Angeles Kings on Jan. 9 against Los Angeles.
The Bruins sent Florek back to the AHL on Saturday to make room for forward Loui Eriksson, who was activated from the Bruins’ injured reserve list.
