Florek tallies his first NHL goal
Boston Bruins forward Justin Florek scored his first career National Hockey League goal last night against the Los Angeles Kings.
With the Bruins trailing 4-1 late in the third period, the Marquette native set himself up in front of the net. Florek deflected a shot from the blue line by teammate Johnny Boychuk past Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.
Through three NHL games, the former Northern Michigan University captain has a goal, an assist and a plus/minus rating of +1. Florek made his NHL debut against the Winnipeg Jets last Saturday. He recorded his first NHL point, an assist, against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
Florek and the Bruins wrap up their three-game West Coast trip tomorrow night against the San Jose Sharks. The opening face-off is set for 10:30 p.m.
