Florek scores his first NHL point
Marquette native Justin Florek is certainly making a positive impression on the ice for the Boston Bruins.
The former Northern Michigan University captain scored his first career NHL point in just his second NHL game on Tuesday night. Florek had the primary assist on a goal by Daniel Paille late in the second period. The Bruins lost 5-2 to the Anaheim Ducks.
With Boston trailing 3-0 late in the second period, Florek entered the Anaheim zone with the puck. He quickly passed it to Paille, who beat Ducks goaltender Jonas Hillier for his seventh goal of the season.
Florek played just under 12 minutes, finishing with an assist and a plus, minus rating of plus-1. The Bruins are next in action on Thursday, Jan. 9 at Los Angeles against the Kings. Puck drop is set for 10:30 p.m.
